I am Pastor Sara Gillespie, and I am excited to be your interim pastor starting on September 23.

I have been an ordained minister for over 30 years, and I started doing interim ministry about 15 years ago.  Cross Lutheran will be my 10th interim. Between settled calls and interim calls, I have served churches of many sizes, and a variety of locations, including rural and suburban areas and small towns.

I grew up in the Twin Cities and attended Luther College, and then Luther Seminary. 

My extended family is close to my heart, although scattered across the country and across an ocean.

If cats count as people, I am part of a two-person household.

At church, teaching confirmation and working with stewardship are two of my favorite things, so I feel very fortunate to be able to do this as part of my focus in ministering to you.

Outside of church, I like to read, watch edge-of-your-seat psychological thrillers on Netflix, travel a little, and I never miss my weekly Monday night family Bridge game, played online and we’ve added a Zoom call to the mix so we can see and talk to each other, no matter how far away we are might be.

Church and my faith have always been at the center of my life, and I am looking forward to joining the part of the Body of Christ that is Cross Lutheran.
